Who’s In A Name?
The origin of each high school nickname has its very own story to tell. Some have been around for more than a century while others were born in more recent years. Who was the first to tab a school with a certain moniker? What were the circumstances? Does the nickname have historic meaning to its community? All are questions that prompt the question, “Who’s in a name?” The following is a list of the 10 most common nicknames as well as a complete record for the IHSAA’s member schools.
